The Awkward Giraffe

Today in English we had to write a poem about an emotion and use an animal as an extended metaphor for that emotion. So here is my poem:

Awkward
Is the typical giraffe
standing tall, munching leaves
in the open savanna
cleaning its eyes with its long black tongue, its neck swaying in the breeze

Just even reading it again makes me laugh. And so does this picture.
My point exactly.
